What is BOTOX?

To diminish the effects of aging and avoid fine lines, wrinkles, and lax skin on the forehead and upper face, Body+Beauty Lab is pleased to offer BOTOX to our many clients in Philadelphia,, PA. The best-selling product of its kind, this facial rejuvenation treatment produces stunning results and is popular among both women and men. BOTOX can make a dramatic improvement to dynamic facial wrinkles, which result from expressions and movement created by the contracting muscles of the forehead. These facial lines go away when the face is relaxed, but dynamic creases can still remain. This wrinkle relaxer is a purified strain of type A botulinum toxin that temporarily freezes the mobility of the underlying tissue and muscle. To reduce the appearance of these static lines and wrinkles, BOTOX is carefully injected to relax and soften the skin. This specific injection is most commonly administered by our experienced medical injectors between the brows, around the eyes, and throughout the forehead.

What are the benefits of BOTOX?

There are many benefits to BOTOX, including:

  • The prevention of forehead wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes
  • No downtime following treatment
  • Results that last 3 – 6 months
  • Customized treatments for optimal outcomes
  • In some cases, sweat reduction and migraine treatment

This review is for Lua, who gave me a wonderful derma planing facial today and some much-needed knowledge about Morpheus. I already loved this place because I get my injections from Jacqueline (who I've written a review about the past) but it's so nice to know I can get all my skin and beauty needs done at one place now! Looking forward to next month's facial and the Morpheus procedure. Thank you BBL!

I see both Judy Kim for skincare needs and Jacqueline for injectables. Judy is so great and treated me 3 times with Moxi laser for my light melasma and has also given me a hydrafacial after the pigmentation flakes off. Just is so attentive and treats every part of my face individually and even had me come back for touches up when we didn’t see a huge improvement in certain areas. Jacqueline is one of the best injectors I’ve EVER seen and I’ve been to 5 different med spas over the years. She treats me like an individual patient not based on my age. I appreciate her honesty and approach so much I value everything she says and she will never over treat you but I love how she gives you options on everything you could do as well and does it kindly!

Is BOTOX Right for Me?

BOTOX injections are performed for clients seeking to nonsurgically diminish or prevent the visible look of dynamic wrinkles, lines, and moderate folds on their upper face. BOTOX is often considered an effective preventive anti-aging treatment even if you do not yet have static wrinkles. This noninvasive solution is ideal for those who have obvious forehead wrinkles or frown lines between the brows. It can also be a solution for crow's feet around the eyes. If you experience more severe and deeper lines, a combination of BOTOX and a filler may be a better option. Additionally, if you possess moderate to severe skin laxity, you may be a candidate for a ThreadLift, which also delivers impactful results.

About Us

How Does BOTOX Work?

BOTOX injectable treatments are completed as an outpatient procedure right here in our office. If it's your first time to visit us to receive BOTOX, we may perform the treatment within the same day as your initial consultation. You will be asked to make various expressions using your upper face, like frowning, squinting, smiling, etc., to help us mark the injection sites. Your face will be prepared, and BOTOX will be injected under your skin using a fine needle. This will be followed with the application of a cool compress in order to decrease discomfort, swelling, and bruising. In some circumstances, we may also administer a numbing cream to make the procedure more comfortable. However, this is typically not necessary. BOTOX treatments only take about 10 – 15 minutes to perform, after which you may return to your daily schedule almost right away.

What Results Can I Expect from BOTOX?

Following the BOTOX injection, you will be allowed to return to your typical routine, although strenuous activities, such as exercise, should be postponed for a minimum of 24 hours. You will be advised to sleep with your head propped up for at least one night and to avoid touching your face, which could potentially spread the BOTOX to undesired areas. The injected sections of your face can become bruised, red, or swollen for a couple of days, but you should not have any severe or lasting side effects. In the majority of cases, it takes around one week before the final results of BOTOX become fully visible. Your results will generally last 3 – 4 months. We typically recommend scheduling regular maintenance appointments to touch-up your results.

Botox for Hyperhidrosis

Botox injections have come to be widely used in managing primary hyperhidrosis when topical treatments have failed. The treatment works by blocking the nerve signals that instruct the sweat glands to become active. It takes three to four days for the results of Botox injections for hyperhidrosis to become evident. According to the International Hyperhidrosis Society, underarm Botox injections can reduce underarm sweating by 82–87%. The effects can typically last 4–12 months, or up to 14 months in some cases. Botox® is only approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for injection into the underarm sweat glands, however, it can be injected “off label” into the palms and soles to reduce excessive sweating of the hands, feet, back and other areas. Botox for TMJ

When injected into specific facial muscles affected with soreness and discomfort, BOTOX® relieves TMJ and jaw tension for many patients. The injections often eliminate headaches resulting from teeth grinding, and in cases of severe stress, BOTOX® can even minimize lockjaw. When Botulinum toxin is injected into the temporalis and masseter muscles, it limits muscle function and relieves pain associated with TMJ. The therapeutic effects of Botox may last up to 6 months after injection. Although it varies in every individual. Botox injection is a simple, fast and effective procedure for the right individual with correct diagnosis. If you think you may be a candidate, schedule a consultation with a Body+Beauty Lab Medical Injector.

How much does BOTOX cost?

The total cost for BOTOX injections will be based on the amount of product that is needed to reach your goals. During your consultation, your skilled medical injector will form your customized treatment plan and then discuss cost estimates. If you'd like to save money, ask for more information about the Brilliant Distinctions Rewards Program, which allows patients to earn points for BOTOX and other products from Allergan, including Juvéderm. In addition to the Brilliant Distinctions Rewards Program, you can also ask about our office's own VIP membership program, which will allow you to receive special discounts and offers on certain treatments.

What's the difference between wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers?

Injectable wrinkle relaxers (including BOTOX) and injectable dermal fillers (including Restylane and Juvéderm) are both products that improve the appearance of wrinkles and correct fine lines. BOTOX works by relaxing overused muscles in your face that create dynamic wrinkles, including frown lines, crow's feet, smile lines, and forehead wrinkles. Dermal fillers increase volume below the skin to correct depressions and improve fine lines throughout your face. Based on your goals, our skilled team may suggest BOTOX, fillers, or a liquid facelift, which combines both.

What's the difference between BOTOX and Dysport®?

BOTOX and Dysport are different brands of injectable wrinkle relaxers that contain botulinum toxin. Each of these products relaxes the facial muscles to reduce dynamic wrinkles, but both are used to treat specific needs. Some of the small differences between them include the amount in each dose, how far the treatment spreads, and how long the results last. Your medical injector will select the best product to achieve your goals.

Is BOTOX safe?

As long as it is applied correctly, BOTOX should not cause serious complications. However, it's important to choose someone with experience and training with injecting BOTOX, like our skilled team, because overdoing BOTOX can lead to bad results. Currently one of the most requested cosmetic treatments of all time, BOTOX for cosmetic use is considered incredibly safe and has earned approval from the FDA (Food and Drug Administration).

Express Yourself

If you find yourself restraining from fully expressing yourself due to the possibility of creating wrinkles, then it may be time to consider receiving high-quality BOTOX wrinkle relaxer treatments at Body+Beauty Lab. We invite women and men concerned about dynamic lines and folds to schedule a consultation with one of our experienced medical injectors. At our Philadelphia office, a member of our team will work with you to develop your customized BOTOX treatment program.
